It's hard to believe and a bit sad that another Christmas has come and gone, but it also means that baby's arrival is that much closer! We had a wonderful little holiday visiting lots of family, lots of fun, and LOTS of food!

We thought it was pretty funny how the baby got a stocking bigger than the rest of ours! Needless to say Bushman jr. is already getting spoiled by both sets of grandparents!

Our last Christmas as a family of two!

I have finally started to work on some of my baby projects, the first being getting some baby blankets sewn. I was able to catch some sweet sales at Fabricland and some online stores and I am looking forward to putting them to use! My next project will be out of my new Amy Butler sewing book that my mom and dad got me for Christmas, so excited!

Christmas is coming!

December is nearing and I find myself ahead of the game in terms of getting ready for Christmas. I am pretty much done shopping for gifts and most are even wrapped sitting nicely under the tree! I figured I should take advantage of the evenings when I finally have some energy to accomplish something after a long day at work! I will be 18 weeks tomorrow and I can finally say I am starting to feel better, making life a lot more enjoyable!! It's also been very exciting to feel the little one moving around these last few weeks, what a joy to know a life is growing inside of me!! God is so good! I go for my second ultrasound this week, so we are very much looking forward to that. I will post some belly pics soon!

This weekend has been very exciting for us, we are an auntie and uncle again!! Tanya and Aaron had their baby Saturday morning and we went up to the hospital yesterday afternoon, so exciting!! I won't spoil the details, I will let the proud mommy and daddy share the news first!!

Well, I better sign off... it's just about gametime, GO GREEN!! (wow, never thought I would ever mention sports in this thing... my hubby will be so proud!)

I have an announcement to make, I guess the picture says it all! We are going to have a baby! We are so excited, God is so good! I'll admit, there was a time when I wondered if I would ever see that sight, my patience running thinner than it should've been. However God always seems to surprise me with His power when my faith seems to be lacking the most. We had been hoping for this miracle for quite some time and after a few visits to the doctor I was more-so anxiously anticipating a surgery date than a positive pregnancy test. But God had other plans, for which I am so thankful! My due date is May 2 (the day after my birthday!) and I am 10 and 1/2 weeks today. Yeah!! I am so excited for this adventure!

A Summer so Sweet

I can't believe summer is over, it's September already, the days are shorter and the air so much crisper. Every year, summer seems to slip away so quickly and this year was certainly no exception! I am grateful, however, that we were able to build so many memories this summer, I look back and realize how much we were actually able to do!

We loved being able to spend time with our niece, Emma! It didn't take her long to learn what a big goof her uncle is! We are also really excited to meet our niece/nephew due to arrive in November to Tanya and Aaron!

Daniel had the opportunity to meet up with Jordan Hendry from the Chicago Blackhawks when he brought the Stanley Cup to Nokomis.

We had an awesome opportunity to go to San Diego for a week in July. I had found

an unbelievable seat sale a couple of months prior and we asked my sister,

Steph if she wanted to come with us! We were able to see and do lots of stuff,

many adventures and laughs

were had!

We celebrated our two year anniversary shortly after the trip and we also took a couple of day trips to the lake with friends/family.

On the August long weekend my Dad took Daniel to a Riders game in Regina while Steph and

I hit the malls!

The next day we took a trip to the Crooked Bush with my family. It was probably one of the

strangest things I have ever seen, every tree in that bush grew crooked and there is

no explanation! On the way home we saw a funnel cloud which was really amazing to

see but somewhat scary at the same time!

In August, Daniel's dad took his staff from the store to see the Home Hardware car at the NASCAR races when they came to Saskatoon.

We also took a long weekend in August to go up to Madge Lake with Daniel's family.

Good times were had, boating, tubing, golfing, eating, and just hanging out!

Just this last weekend, we added another guy to the family! Miranda and Josue were

married in my parent's backyard! I tried my hand at making a cake and did a bit of decorating, it was really fun and I was honored to be able to do that for my sister! It turned out to be a beautiful day and we wish them the very best in their years to come! We love you guys!

After all the festivities we went up to Saskatoon to see the fireworks!

Although this year may not have gone exactly how we wanted or anticipated God is good and his blessings are abundant! I am so thankful for all He has given me and I look forward to all He has planned for us!

What I've been up to lately...

I bought a sewing machine with my Christmas money a couple of weeks ago and I have had a lot of fun trying to figure it out. I decided to make some curtains and pillows for our bedroom as my first project. It's been awhile since I've done any sewing and I am very much a beginner but I am excited about learning! Here are some pictures;

Nothing too advanced but I'm pretty happy about how they turned out, now what to do for my next project?

I haven't posted for awhile and I thought I should probably post some pics of my niece! Emma Rayne Bushman was born on December 15th to Daniel's brother and siser-in-law, Derek and Lindsey. She is such a precious little miracle and we are loving being auntie and uncle!

'Tis the season for twitter and taking over

Alright, so Kim is the one who usually posts on here, but I have taken over for this post. Before I do I just want to say those interested in keeping tabs on me can do so on twitter...I am into that more so than blogging and facebook right now so you can get 'up to the minute' stuff...anyway the paper is going good-we are excited to get some holiday time over Christmas and spend it with family and friends. Over the past few months we have done some fun stuff too like going to a preseason Flames game with Jeff and Joc and then myself I got to go to the west final between Sask and Calgary which was loud and awesome experience! I have my own sports column in the paper called The Point After which has been fun to write as well! Check it out thewatrousmanitou.com You may have to be a subscriber to see it online but I am not sure.

Anyway here is my post: In December I had the chance to meet my childhood hockey hero-Theo Fleury! Growing up as a kid watching the Calgary Flames, Fleury was the best guy on the team and I loved watching him play-I even took #14 as my hockey number in minor hockey cuz the guy was a beauty! We even got to watch a couple of Flames games including the one where he broke the record as most points as any Flame--So Fleury who has had a dark past wrote a book Playing with Fire where he talks about his past-and he was holding a book signing at McNally in Saskatoon thursday Dec. 3...so Kim and I hopped in the truck and headed to the city and after waiting two hours I was able to meet Fleury.

Fleury was really nice and willing to sign a couple of things and pose for a picture. I bought the book and read the entire autobiography in a couple of days. I am not much of a book guy but when I read a book I want to see what happens sooner than later so I go right through it-I want to become more of a book guy so we will see what happens. Anyway I met the guy and am still pumped about that opportunity. My sister Tanya told me about it, so a big thanks to her otherwise I would have never had that chance to see him.

In other notes: I am excited and anticipating becoming an uncle for the first time. My brother and sister in law are expecting anyday and I am looking forward to spoiling my niece or nephew! We wrapped up our first portion of 628 (junior youth) with a progressive supper. It was a lot of fun, but cold time to end the year. Next year should be a lot of fun and have some cool stuff planned. Looking forward to the weather warming up--right now it is -40 something with the windchill, the car and I had a disagreement earlier about it starting so hopefully that won't happen too often, anyway if I don't come on here until after Christmas which is a good possibility, I wish you God's blessings and a very Merry Christmas! Make sure and remember the real reason for the season-and that is Christ's birth!

Thankful

I'll admit, I wasn't too thrilled about having a "white" october this year however there are countless other things that have filled my heart with joy this year, here are a few of them;

~I am thankful that God is present and faithful amidst a long and sometimes painful journey. And that my lack of faith does not nullify His greatness and His ability to work in my life~

~I feel so blessed to have the most wonderful, loving, and supportive husband. Daniel, thanks for encouraging me in ever aspect of my life, I am so so thankful I get to grow old with you! I love you, sweetheart!

~I am thankful for family. I feel so blessed for the love and support we have from both sets of parents and for the friendship we have with all of our siblings. I love you all!

~I am so grateful for the opportunities that we have had to grow as a couple and to experience adventures together! Hawaii was wonderful and so full of moments I will cherish forever! Even our small little getaway in the summer and my first NHL game are some of the memories we will be able to look back at and smile!

~I am thankful for good friends and a great church support group!

~I know it's simple and kinda cliche' but I truly am thankful that we have jobs that provide. When you look at well over half of the world's population, poverty is very real, and we are very wealthy. I am thankful I have never had to worry about going to bed hungry or not having a bed at all.

~And, I am thankful that God is good.... all the time.

A Beautiful summer evening.

There's nothing quite like walking by the lake on a calm summers night. Daniel and I are in Waskesiu for a few days just to get away for a bit and to celebrate our first anniversary, can't believe it's been a year! We enjoyed a lovely meal at Hawood Inn and just got back from a relaxing evening walk. This is definitely my idea of camping.... at the hotel!!

It's sad to think how quickly summer is slipping away, realizing that I need to savour every moment because I know I'll have to pull out those parkas way too soon. Summer has been going well for us, enjoying our holidays but not overly thrilled to get back into the swing of things on Monday. Daniel's work at the paper is going well, Watrous just celebrated their centennial so he was busy taking pictures for that. He's pretty excited about the TSN/Kraft celebration tour that is coming to town, he's on the planning committee and will be busy getting stuff planned and organized for the live shoot at the end of August. As for me, I'm at the at the clinic full-time for the summer which has been nice, I'll be starting at Home Hardware again come fall when they won't need me as much at the clinic. It's been amazing to see how God has provided for us this past year, I am grateful for where He has brought us and the opportunities that He has given.

The past few weeks our pastor has been going through the beatitudes at church, the message from last week has had me thinking and re-evaluating my life. This week the verse was, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled." Now obviously I don't know what true hunger is, I have never been anywhere near starvation nor have I ever had to worry about that. However I do know that when I feel that growl in my stomach I won't be satisfied until I fill it, sometimes I don't really care what goes in as long as I feel full. It got me thinking about how diligently I strive to live a life that glorifies God, do I really hunger and thirst with my whole being for that? I also think that often I strive for happiness rather than growing in my relationship with Christ, and I look to people and things to provide that happiness when really I will never be fulfilled. It is only God and God alone who can satisfy my most inner self and no matter how much I think I know what I need to be filled, I really don't. I'm praying that I will be able to look to my heavenly father for that fulfillment and not rely on my own selfish desires. It's a challenge that I don't expect to ever fully conquer but something that I need to work towards daily in my relationship with Him.

Finally an update...

Another month has gone by without an update, this seems to be a trend that I can't get out of. Sorry...

It's hard to believe we have been in Watrous for two and a half months already, wow how time flies! We have been able to get lots done on the house which has been really nice. I finished painting the whole house (pictures to come soon) which was quite a big job but it was something that I thoroughly enjoyed doing! We have also finished shingling the house, my dad came out one weekend to help and Daniel's parents have put a lot of hours into it as well which we really appreciate! Our next project is laminate flooring upstairs which will hopefully be getting done tomorrow, my parents are coming out to help. It will feel so nice to have everything finished!

Another thing that has been on our minds a lot is work for me. My job at the clinic is going well and I enjoy it very much however since it's a casual position I am not getting as many hours as I would like. So I have been sending my resume out to a bunch of places but nothing has worked out thus far which has proved to be quite frustrating! I did get a call, however, from the high school in Watrous, they asked me to fill in for their secretary since theirs quite and they had not hired a replacement. So I was doing that for a few days last week and I did apply for the position but they have not started the interview process yet so I guess we will see what happens there. Sometimes it's hard to trust that God will provide, especially when it seems that I get turned down again and again. However, as my husband gently reminds me, He obviously has something better in store for me and we just have to trust that He has a plan. Why should I ever doubt anyways when He has been nothing but faithful in all my years...

I figured it was time to post some pictures of the house, we got actual ownership this last weekend so now we can start making it our own. Until now, we were grateful enough to have to owners of the house let us live here until the paperwork went through, so in reality we were really "renting" the house but they let us live there for free which was so wonderful of them! It feels really good to have everything settled now, and now the reno's begin!! Daniel was joking, that his five day work week turned into a six day one... it's probably true, there is a lot that could be done but we don't know if we will do it all right now since it is very livable. I have started painting the cupboards in the kitchen, I'm doing them black, which will be something different. It's really exciting to be able to have a place where I can incorporate my personality and flavor, to do what I have always dreamed my house to be like!! Daniel has become quite the landscaper and it's been fun watching him work on the yard and hear the ideas that he has!! We are having fun anyways, and we feel very blessed to be in a house so soon after being married!! Work is going well for both of us, I was fortunate to get a job at the medical clinic in Watrous, it is a casual position right now but I have been working full time for the last three weeks which is really good!! It's a good way to get my foot in the door at least and I will get another job if need be. Daniel is loving his job and he's doing great!! He writes most of the articles in the "Watrous Manitou" and has been taking a lot of pictures as well. He is putting in a lot of effort and the results are really good, I am so proud of him!!The wedding pictures have arrived!! However they are in an album so I have not had a chance to put them on the computer yet... hopefully soon! Anyways, here are some pictures of the house;

A New Beginning

We've been married for almost a week!! We just got back from Banff this afternoon, we had a truly wonderful time!! Thanks for everyone who came to the wedding, we appreciate all of your prayers, blessings, and support! Just thought that we would post a few pictures of our trip, I will be putting on some wedding pics when we get them from the photographer.
